Dan Cox

Director, Strategic Communications

Dan is the Director of Strategic Communications at MxD. He is responsible for developing communications strategies that broaden awareness and deepen engagement with members, partners and other key stakeholders. He also oversees the planning and implementation of all communications initiatives, effectively integrating advertising, content development, events, media relations, and print and digital marketing to advance MxD’s mission.
Dan’s pursuits in marketing, communications and public relations have spanned more than 20 years and substantively driven the growth of organizations large and small. Prior to joining MxD, he led a social impact communications consultancy that was dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations expand their reach and strengthen connections.

Previously, Dan was the Corporate Communications Director at Jabil, a Fortune 150 manufacturing solutions provider that serves more than 300 of the world’s leading product brands. He led the company’s global external communications strategy, planning and programs during an unprecedented time of growth across several advanced manufacturing capabilities, including additive manufacturing, IoT, augmented reality, digital twins, flexible electronics, supply chain orchestration and cybersecurity. He oversaw public relations, social media, content marketing and thought leadership as these capabilities were introduced to Jabil’s existing clients and altogether new markets.

Dan also held marketing leadership roles at UL (Underwriters Laboratories) in the areas of environmental sustainability and energy storage, and at JPMorgan, where he was Vice President of Marketing within the asset management division.

Dan holds a B.A. in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
