About the Project
MxD is preparing to release a Request for Proposals to help accelerate the adoption of digital manufacturing technologies at small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMMs). There is no question, implementing digital technology can lead to substantial returns for a company’s bottom line if applied correctly. Even with the sustained momentum to embrace digital manufacturing at larger manufacturing organizations, this success has not been translated effectively into the resources needed to accelerate the adoption of digital manufacturing amongst the supply base. The question many SMMs ask is “Where should I get started and what steps should I take to maximize my ROI in digital manufacturing technology?” To answer this question, MxD seeks to a fund a team to develop the resources SMMs need to create a strategy for investing in the right technology at the right time, launch effective I4.0 programs, and ultimately de-risk their journey to realizing a return on their investment in digital manufacturing technologies.

Pitch Session Opportunity
In parallel with this project, MxD is hosting a virtual proposal concept pitch session. The purpose of the Pitch Session is to enable individuals and organizations that have already begun to form teams the chance to share a snapshot of their solution to the 20-04 Getting Started and Maximizing Your ROI from Digital Manufacturing as a Small Manufacturer RFP and receive preliminary feedback from the MxD community. This will serve as an excellent teaming opportunity for individuals and groups that identify synergies between their pitches.
Individuals who wish to attend must register online. In addition, individuals or teams who wish to share a pitch, must email projects@mxdusa.org. See the PPK Overview for detailed instructions.
The deadline to sign up to present is Friday, May 15, 2020, 5:00 p.m. CT
